This libguide is designed to help students at Saint Ignatius’ College follow the principles and practices of good scholarship.

INTRODUCTION

This libguide is designed to help students at Saint Ignatius’ College follow the principles and practices of good scholarship. This includes understanding, valuing and using ethical practices when locating and using information as part of your studies.

GOOD SCHOLARSHIP

 BEING HONEST AND ETHICAL
 LISTING ALL YOUR SOURCES
 USING YOUR OWN WORDS
You must be honest about what is your own work and what isn't, and about where you got your information.
A good researcher uses multiple sources. Being an ethical researcher and a good scholar means listing all your sources
and correctly citing each source.
Communicate what you have learned in your own words. This isn't always easy to do but it is very important.
